Re: School Closure
18th March 2020
Dear Parents and school families,
In the midst of these unprecedented times we acknowledge everyone’s concerns.
In the interest of the safety and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and families this morning we carried out a risk assessment for the school covering ‘preventing and managing sickness including outbreaks’ and we are at Stage 3– delay phase.
However due to our specific circumstances we are unable to provide school meals for the remainder of this week. We are also unable to implement the social distancing recommendations of the government in Westminister. Given today’s announcement that schools should close on Friday 20th indefinitely, our Board of Governors have decided not to re-open but to close the school with immediate effect until further notice.
We will enter code ‘0’ beside all children on our school registers to denote a closure due to exceptional circumstances.
We will be making arrangements for home school learning as previously stated in the earlier notice, today.
God bless everyone within the Jonesboro community and beyond. Stay safe.
Yours sincerely,
Donal Keenan
